Mrs. Rayela has a Masters Degree in Biology Education from the Ateneo de Manila University, Philippines and a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture and a Certification in Biology Teaching. Mrs. Rayela started the Gateway program at Thomas Johnson Middle School in 2012. As the STEM Coordinator and Gateway teacher she believes that every child has the potential to be great and STEM learning will provide opportunities for students to ignite their interest in STEM and become great problem solvers.
THE STEM DEPARTMENT
Ms. Cureg completed Master of Professional Studies in Mathematics at George Washington University and Bachelor of Science in Mathematics at University of the Philippines. She taught Pre-Calculus and AP Calculus to 12th grade scholars in the District of Columbia. She believes that Mathematics is the linking variable to becoming successful in the field of Science, Technology and Engineering. It’s her desire to inspire her students to be capable in math and science as they aspire to be our nation’s future S.T.E.M. professionals.
